Mariposa Herbals

Mariposa Herbals

I have been creating herbal products since I was a child. Since then I've studied and learned so much about plants and their amazing healing uses. I have always made herbal products as gifts for friends and family, and my love and passion of creating them has led me to start my own business, Mariposa Herbals! I have been selling them locally here in California.

Us:

Nicole, Stephan & Baby SageWe are currently living in coastal northern California where I (Nicole) grew up and where Sage had an amazing homebirth. Most of the herbs in my products grow wild here locally. (We are moving up to Mariposa where we can grow & wildharvest more plants!!! So looking forward to next falls Elderberry harvest!)Some of my favorite local herbal plants:

Calendula (Calendula Officinalis): These yummy, warm, resiny, sticky flowers just might be my favorite flowering herb. I grew up eating the flower petals and now use them in my healing skin salves.

Plantain (Plantago major): We have two kinds of Plantain growing here on the coast I prefer using the bigger, juicer Broad-leaved Plantain.

Chickweed (Stellaria media): Great for cuts, wounds, itching and other skin irritation.

Black Sage (Salvia mellifera): The smell of this plant on a hot dry summer day is my favorite. We are lucky to have it growing wild here.

Yarrow (Achillea millefolium): Sweet yarrow, I can find it flowering all year long in the coastal hills.

Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus): Not native, but growing everywhere in California.

Elderberry (Sambucus nigra): If I can pick the berries before the birds eat them all they make the best tincture or syrup. Our baby, Sage was just born September 22nd 2011 and have been using the Calendula & Chickweed salve on him. Great for diaper rash!!! I love to do custom creations, just ask...
